The Stackpack trays are without plastic. Only the lidding film can be made from plastic. Most of the time our clients use a mono PET lidding film for cardboard. Besides plastic lidding film there are alternatives that contain NO plastics. We use bio plastics made from cellulose, paper lidding material and even a cellulose net. In this case the total pack can be placed in the paper waste container. If a client chooses a plastic lidding film, the consumer tears the film clean off and the Stackpack tray is 100% paper again.
All our ink and lacquer materials are water based and will not affect recyclability. Also the cold glue is water based.
For the outside print we use harmless migration ink. For the inside we use a (coloured) waterbased lacquer or DFP ink (Direct Food Pack). Both options are suitable for direct food contact with wet and fatty foodstuff.
We offer FSC-certified board, mostly FSC MIX. Trays that bear this label are made using a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials and/or FSC controlled wood.
Stackpack can be sealed and transported on existing lines. If a topseal machine is not available we are gladly willing to give you advice on the best options. A dedicated topseal tool is required in most cases.
Because of the blister lacquer on the fifth printing tower we prefer full colour (CMYK) prints on the outside and five colours or less on the inside. More colours are possible but could require a second run on our offset machine.
